TWiG Technologies GIS Intern

Who We Are:

TWiG Technologies is a full-service project delivery company specializing in utility inspections, civil engineering, GIS and land surveying. We support public and private agencies as well as municipalities nationwide.

Internship Summary:

The TWiG Technologies intern is responsible for a variety of job functions across the entire spectrum of the company. This person will have hands on experience with field operations, data team, business development, and management. The TWiG Technologies Intern will utilize multiple aspects of technology to work over a variety of projects within the existing library of TWiG Technologies both in the office and field. This person will work with internal and external customers throughout the project process, from project creation to billing.
The TWiG Technologies Intern will learn all aspects of the company for them to gain a deeper understanding of what TWiG does, how it operates, and provide feedback based upon program experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participate in weekly meetings.
  • Occasionally going out to the field on an as-needed basis.
  • Work closely with the Director of Utility Operations.
  • Use specialized GPS equipment to report position and record data in company software.
  • Maintain all assigned Company equipment in proper working order.
  • Completes assigned audits according to playbook timely, accurately, and completely in
  • accordance with the established safety protocols.
  • Assist on the office-end of the field auditing process with the data team, with
  • Conference/Expo preparations and with marketing as needed.
  • Work with data to provide pre-processing, matching, post processing, and sending out
  • final reports to customers.
  • Perform data import/export, preparation and analysis including preparing, evaluating,
  • and combining geographical data and non-geographical data from various sources into
  • more refined assets that can be used for different purposes.
  • Creating files with latitudes and longitudes to assist the field team in finding potentially
  • missed assets.
  • Create and send user communications.
  • Perform entry level code changes.
  • Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to
  • improve processes, create efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase profitability
  • Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned.

Education Qualifications:
  • Must be an incoming Junior or Senior majoring in Business, Communications, GIS, Computer Science, or graduating in May 2024 with a degree in a similar field.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
  • Frequent entering and exiting of a vehicle.
  • Working outdoors.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
