Position Purpose:
The purpose of our Part Time Activities Assistant is to design, plan, and maintain activities to ensure the social needs of our residents are met/maintained.
As an Activities Assistant you can expect to:
  • In conjunction with staff and residents, plans, implements and evaluates the activity programs of assigned communities to help in meeting the needs of our residents. Coordinates with the bus driver in the planning of monthly trips. Encourages resident participation in activities within individual capabilities.
  • Welcomes new residents and encourages them to engage with activities that appeal to them as they are able.
  • Provides calendar of planned events to Volunteer Coordinator and Activities & Volunteer Supervisor.
  • Ensures that management staff is informed and current on scheduled plans and events. Encourage all staff to participate and assist with large gatherings.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma. Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Prior experience in activities planning and coordination preferred.
  • Be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language and follow written/oral instructions.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrants such action.
  • Be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Not pose a direct threat to the health of safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • Be able to maintain regular attendance.
  • Be up-to-date on required vaccinations
