Civil Engineer Intern

TWiG Technologies is a full-service project delivery company specializing in utility inspections, civil engineering, GIS and land surveying. We support public and private agencies as well as municipalities nationwide.
Scope of Work:
The Civil Engineer Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to real-world projects under the guidance of our experienced engineering team. This internship is designed to provide exposure to various facets of civil engineering, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge to practical situations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform design calculations for transportation, sewer and water infrastructure and storm water management under the direction of a Senior Engineer.
- Assists in the collection and analysis of data from reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
- Learn computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Performs occasional site visits, field observations and data collection assignments.
- Prepare specifications for design projects.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates for design projects.
- Prepare storm water reports.
- Review engineering design plans for conformance with local ordinance.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Analyzing survey reports, long-range plans, maps, and other data.
- Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures.
- Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned.

- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to multitask effectively.
Education and Experience:
- Must be an incoming Junior or Senior majoring Civil Engineering or graduating in May 2024 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
- Occasional entering and exiting of a vehicle.
- Occasional Working outdoors.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
