Marjorie P. Lee Retirement Community voted as one of the top retirement communities on the east side of Cincinnati is seeking candidates for an STNA / Resident Assistant position. The ideal STNA / Resident Assistant candidate will have experience caring for residents with dementia and working in long-term care. Under direct supervision and working in a team environment this position provides for the daily personal physical, psycho-social and spiritual needs, activities of daily living and comfort of our residents in accordance with our established policies, procedures, and team standards.
As an STNA/Resident Assistant you can expect to:
  • STNA grooms and provides all other personal care to residents so that clothing, hair and overall appearances are clean and presentable. This includes checking and cleaning colostomy bags.
  • STNA regularly checks and provides appropriate care and stimulation to residents needing specialized attention, including observation of the skin and provision of care related to the prevention of skin breakdowns.
  • STNA answers call lights, verbally or in person within 60 seconds.
  • STNA maintains resident functional abilities at optimum level by using the restorative devises and programs as ordered.
  • STNA ensures that residents’ nutritional needs are satisfied in a timely manner through transporting to the assigned dining area, assisting with meals and/or feeding, as required.
  • STNA encourages residents to participate in and coordinates and adjusts schedules to ensure residents can attend church services and other activities.
  • STNA maintains a clean, safe and inviting living environment for residents by keeping rooms, dining areas, halls and other common areas free of clutter, soiled items, debris and odor.
  • STNA follows facility policies and procedures for infection control by practicing standard precautions and following OSHA guidelines for handling blood and other potentially infectious materials.
  • STNA handles all soiled and/or bio-hazardous items in an appropriate manner to avoid contamination.
  • STNA reads, understands, implements and evaluates the residents current Plan of Care.
  • STNA using our computerized medical records systems, updates all resident-related information and completes other administrative responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • STNA ensures that the charge/care team nurse is notified in a timely manner of changes in resident condition family and or resident concerns, malfunctioning equipment, material shortages, and other pertinent observations.
  • STNA attends all team meetings which occur when on duty and other mandatory in-services.
  • STNA annually Completes the 12 hours of annual in-service training required to maintain state certification.
  • STNA maintains competency in all additional areas of skills training.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Be Ohio State tested nurse’s aide.
  • Have the ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift, push, pull or move 50 lbs on a regular basis and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Have the ability to relate to and work effectively with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the facility and to remain calm in emotionally charged situation.
  • Have the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Have the ability to see and hear, with or without reasonable accommodation, so that the essential functions of this position may be fully met.
  • Have the ability to sit, stoop, bend, and move continuously throughout the day.
  • Have the ability to maintain an attendance record which falls within the guidelines of the company’s attendance policy.
  • Be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to communicate with residents based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning.
  • Have knowledge and competencies for age specific interventions.
  • Be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
