Overview
Findlay Market is Ohio’s oldest continuously operated public market and a cherished historic landmark. At the heart of it all is the Market Center—the go-to hub for shopper information and support. The Market Center Associate serves as the first point of contact for both loyal customers and first-time visitors, providing friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable customer service. This role is key to creating a welcoming experience at the market. In addition to staffing the Market Center, the Associate is responsible for implementing the Produce Perks/SNAP Program, supporting Outdoor Market programming, and acting as a vital link between shoppers and the Corporation for Findlay Market (CFFM). This position reports to the Outdoor Market & Programs Manager and Coordinator.
Regular Weekly Schedule:
- Wednesday: 1 PM - 6 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM - 3 PM
- Sunday: 10 AM - 4 PM
Additional Hours: Opportunities to work non-traditional hours may arise, including coverage for planned or unplanned absences of other Market Center Associates. Extra hours may also be available depending on programming, activities, and scheduling needs.

Market Center Associate Role Description
The following Principal Duties and Responsibilities outline the general nature of the work required for the position. This list is not exhaustive, and the employee may be asked to perform additional tasks as needed.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors and provide information about Findlay Market, including but limited to information on wayfinding, CFFM programs, events, promotions, and more.
- Maintain a customer-friendly attitude when interacting with visitors.
- Responsible for Market Center phone calls and messages.
- Support and facilitate all nutrition benefit programs, including but not limited to Produce Perks, SNAP/EBT, TANF, Buckeye Fresh, and SFMNP. Stay well-informed on all aspects of each program.
- Must adhere to all governmental nutrition benefit program guidelines and processes, including being highly proficient in cash management and handling, maintaining strong organizational skills, accurately managing and tracking redemption and distribution numbers, filling out receipts for vendors, and adapting to changes in programs, policies, and procedures in the Outdoor Market. If you are not comfortable handling and counting money with accuracy, this position may not be the right fit.
- Provide food and nutrition benefits education, including communicating with customers about Findlay Market programs, promotions, and which Findlay Market vendors accept specific nutrition benefits.
- Be able to explain and educate guests on all CFFM programs.
- Process transactions for market merchandise, gift certificates, etc.
- Support development, fundraising, and event sales and initiatives at Market Center.
- Process community composting program.
- Support and process guest experience feedback program.
- Communicate Work Orders and other facility needs to Maintenance staff as needed.
- Record daily vendor attendance (morning and evening).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Values, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, and good with people.
- Must be at least 18 years old (or 17 with a high school diploma or GED).
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including standing for extended periods at cash register, sitting at a front desk for several hours, climbing stairs, moderate lifting up to 30lbs, stocking shelves and handling inventory, assisting with program/event setup and takedown).
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems, inventory management, or retail operations preferred.
- Proficient computer skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization.
- Availability to work both weekdays and weekends; occasional evenings and special events may be required.
