Communications and Events Coordinator

Job Overview

The Communications and Events Coordinator position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College. UC Blue Ash is a regional college within the University of Cincinnati with an enrollment of approximately 4,109 students and more than 250 employees. It is located on a scenic, 135-acre wooded campus in the heart of Blue Ash, Ohio. The college is a recipient of the Cincinnati Business Courier 2021 Best Places to Work award.

The Communications and Events Coordinator will help lead the planning and management for a variety of events across the UC Blue Ash campus. They will also support different communications initiatives and projects that will include writing for social media and developing other digital content, so strong writing and organizational skills are important for a candidate to be successful. The person in this role will interact regularly with faculty and staff members across the campus, external vendors, and other university departments.

Essential Functions

  • Plan and oversee the execution of a variety of campus events, including signature events for UC Blue Ash College.
  • Manage and schedule event requests through software programs that include 25Live and CampusLink.
  • Assist with management of the official UC Blue Ash social media sites – Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Includes content creation and scheduling posts.
  • Assist with developing a weekly e-newsletter, news releases and student profiles.
  • Assist with coordination of UC Commencement communications and activities specific to UC Blue Ash College.
  • Interact with faculty, staff, external agencies, and other university departments.
  • Assist with the administration of the Communications and Events departments budgets.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree
Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience
One (1) year of experience in communications, event planning, and/or social media management.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience with event scheduling and management.
  • Experience planning for and managing events.
  • Experience with social media.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
