Job Description
Pearl Interactive Network is seeking to hire a Personnel Security Specialist. This is a remote (WFH) opportunity.
The Personnel Security Specialist is responsible for administering the Personnel Security Program by conducting vetting and suitability investigations. The Personnel Security Specialist will review questionnaires and credit and criminal reports for background Investigations and any supporting documentation for vetting.

Operating Hours: 8 am - 5 pm EST, Monday - Friday
Preferred Location: metro Atlanta, GA
Technical Equipment, and Remote Office Requirements:

- Ethernet cable access. Wi-Fi-only connectivity is prohibited.
- Private and secure workspace within your home. Away from noise and distractions.
- Computer equipment, monitor, and headset provided.
Job Duties:
- Determine the employment suitability of applicants.
- Review SF85, SF86, and e-Quip for submission to clients for all initial investigations and reinvestigations.
- Evaluate questionnaire answers, statements of personal history, and other related data prior to starting formal background checks.
- Investigate pertinent background information, such as credit bureau reports, local agency checks, criminal records, and other violation reports.
- Inspect security paperwork for accuracy and completeness and prepare clearance rosters.
- Examine interview answers and investigate potentially adverse information.
- Draft follow-up questions for cases where insufficient information was provided.
- Determine the authenticity and veracity of all background information, interview answers, and statements.
- Prepare reports and recommend whether security clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked, or denied.
- Document processes and ensure the protection of sensitive information.
- Develop and maintain sound background investigation practices, as well as ensure compliance.
- Determine the suitability and security eligibility of individuals for entry and retention in sensitive and nonsensitive positions.
- Make security clearance determinations for employees or other persons for access to sensitive information, resources, material, or work sites.
- Interview applicants to resolve questions concerning derogatory information discovered during the investigation.
- Review and evaluate criminal history fingerprint results recommending and reviewing suitability adjudications or employment pre-screening.
- Reconcile personnel security files, records, and access lists.
- Assist as needed in preparing and coordinating badge requests and other personnel security documents for appropriate Government approval.
- Attend required technical and security training relative to assigned duties.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources or substitute education for experience.
- Must undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment.
- May be required to undergo and pass a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process with the Federal government.
- Must possess knowledge of a full range of security principles, concepts, practices, products and services, and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating security procedures/processes.
- Experience working within business processing systems including a personnel security case management system.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, and candidates.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Email, the Internet, copy & fax machines.
- Capable of working independently and multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, peers, management, and clients which may involve delivering presentations in-person and/or remotely. Must be able to access, exchange, communicate and converse accurate information in these situations. Constantly operates a computer, mobile phone and other IT peripherals.
