Overview

Reporting to the VP/Chief People Officer (a Black Achiever), this role leads the organization’s efforts related to cultivating positive frontline employee relations. This is achieved primarily through advising leaders at all levels regarding best practices for managing people and partnering with others to optimize the employee experience in ways that improve retention and strong performance.

The ideal candidate will be a proven Human Resources leader with at least 8 years of HR experience with at least 5 years at the Director level. This leader will have significant experience in managing employee relations, safety and workers compensation programs while minimizing legal or administrative agency involvement. There must be a strong track record of developing direct reports, confidently coaching and training managers and influencing business outcomes without direct authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide employee relations consultation/direction to multiple locations including being the key contact for the Local Board HR Committee at select locations
  • Lead the Safety and Workers Compensation programs to help insure a safe work environment, regulatory compliance and an effective return to work program. Build solid partnerships with our legal and third party vendors to partner in managing claims to reduce costs
  • Own the New Hire Orientation process, continually improving effectiveness
  • Implement and promote an Employee Recognition program
  • Lead quarterly new manager training program
  • Facilitate Employee Surveys for annual and ongoing new hire and pulse surveys. Serve as a resource to locations in reviewing and understanding the data. Identify companywide trends and lead the development of action plans to address

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience; Masters degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years HR generalist experience with at least 5 years at Director level
  • PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP a plus
