Job Description

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Takes radiologic films or other scans of various portions of the body to assist in the detection of foreign bodies and the diagnosis of diseases and injuries.

CCHMC SALARY GRADE:12

SCOPE: To function as a leader in in the field of medical imaging. To direct the daily work and to serve as a resource to Imaging Technologist staff within an Imaging Department of an academic medical center dedicated to the care of infants; children and adolescents; in either the clinical or research setting.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

•Staff Development and Training
Directs Technologist responsibilities and provides service specific education to Technologists. Support the professional growth of staff. May assume leadership in developing, evaluating, and/or improving processes or procedures. Lead a team/work group and assign work duties.

•Process Improvement
Participate in improving/assuring organizational and/or departmental performance/quality through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data and/or providing input to department discussions. Anticipate and actively identify and recommend areas for process/system improvement. May work with appropriate personnel to implement agreed upon changes. May participate in the evaluation of improvement initiatives/activities

•Personnel Management
Oversee technical staff, in a professional manner, in order to optimize workflow and to encourage good patient care and positive work environment. Anticipate and analyze conflict situations and take preventative or corrective action. Take administrative initiative to handle problems and seek resolution

•Collaboration
Work collaboratively/cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Proactively adjust one's style and/or efforts to complement those of others. Develop positive working relationships with peers/colleagues. Share knowledge and/or provide support for team members. Contribute to and promote a positive and professional work environment/atmosphere. Will serve as a liaison within the division or organization

•Leadership
Advanced knowledge to perform advanced, difficult, or unusual procedures or test. Direct the work of imaging staff and serve as a resource toward the resolution of non-standard issues and problems. Serve as the front line leader. Demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and communicate with others. Coach and/or mentor others, formally or informally.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

•Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or Equivalent
•Registered ARRT (R) or ARRT (CT) or ARRT (N) or ARDMS or ARRT (S) or NMTCB
•Licensed by Ohio Department of Health within 30 days of eligibility if applicable
•3 years of pediatric experience

Preferred:

•Bachelor's degree
