The successful candidate will provide daily operational support for end-user hardware, software and all other computer related issues or technical questions. Completes administrator level duties as needed daily. Conducts routine maintenance on all hardware and software including maintaining accurate records on all hardware and software systems. Responsible for coordinating all audio/visual improvements throughout the agency.
Employee is required to respond during off-duty hours on an on-call basis.
The successful candidate will perform following responsibilities:
- Responds to and resolves information technology issues from staff, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors in a timely manner while providing technical assistance through email, telephone calls and personal requests. Makes independent decisions at times and confers with the IT team on other issues.
- Works with or assists other IT team members and/or consultants regularly. Assists Director of IT or manager on intermediate and long-term projects; may lead small to moderate projects such as audio video upgrades for auditoriums or meeting spaces.
- Maintains, repairs and inventories all computers and workstations. Makes daily repairs to computers and servers as needed. Prepares new PCs, printers, scanners and other IT equipment for initial use. Maintains patching and update schedule. Assists in the installation, maintenance, and support of servers and network components, including wireless access points.
- Maintains records in Enterprise Asset Management for all hardware and software systems including PC laptops, iPads, software licensing, warranties, and service agreements.
- Participates in the administration of the organizational IT network, servers, and security systems under guidance if needed. This includes patches, fixes, response time and general operation. This work may impact the entire organization. This also includes setting up new profiles and permissions for staff members and running backup duties, security, and passwords.
- Evaluates systems for future recommendations on purchases for PC hardware and software. Makes recommendations for end user hardware and software to Director of IT.
- Works independently with little supervision or with multiple individuals on IT related duties and projects. Works with or assists consultants and/or Director of IT on short- and long-term projects. May lead small to moderate projects.
- Documents current use of hardware, software, procedures, FAQs, and contribute to Knowledgebase. Trains users in the use of current or new hardware and software and addresses user problems in application of hardware and software, including immediate issues on an on-call basis during off-duty hours.
- Manages audio visual (AV) equipment, infrastructure and projects for all guest and staff related facilities and meeting spaces.
- Maintains key fob systems throughout agency. Responsible for creation and maintenance of system and fobs. Evaluates new industry standard systems for new solutions as they become available.
- Administers and maintains IP cameras and camera system-park wide. This includes building out and expanding the coverage of the system to new areas as needed.
- Updates and administers the website and intranet when needed as a backup to Website Manager. Responds to on call requests for emergency updates.
- Administers and supports Microsoft 365 Cloud Computing Platform.
- Maintains accurate data related to mobile device management (MDM) software. Responsible for management of MDM and updates to devices managed as needed.
- Resolves all escalated computer technical problems and coordinates with Director of IT on complex or urgent issues.
- Assists Director of IT in development of various technical reports.
- Assists Director of IT or other IT team members in managing all video surveillance systems including equipment, hardware, software and networking. Coordinates with appropriate Great Parks’ staff on use of system for monitoring and security at all guest and staff related facilities.
- Serves as backup for other IT team members including cross-training in their areas of expertise and performing their duties in their absence.
- Supports management by providing information about technical needs and services.
- Prepares purchase requisitions and approves where applicable. Adheres to purchasing card procedures and submits expenditures for supervisor approval.
- Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks’ policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Maintains confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of: Advanced personal computer, peripheral and audio video technology (Windows and iOS), methods and practices; email; internet; Microsoft Windows environments. Basic to intermediate knowledge of M365, LAN and WAN networks; network cabling; VoIP telephone systems; cloud computing; Microsoft Exchange, cloning software, MDM software; Content Management systems; key fob system equipment; Milestone Security Camera systems, AXIS Camera Equipment; recent developments in the field of information technology; laws and policies affecting communications and management of information technology.

- Skill in: Troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software problems; advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; preparing new hardware and software for initial use; preparing comprehensive documentation, records and reports; planning and understanding abstract and technical concepts; basic project management; application of job-related software; oral and written communications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field and three years of directly relevant professional experience; or associate degree in information technology or related field and five years of directly relevant professional experience; or minimum of 7 years of directly relevant work experience.
- Experience with Microsoft and Apple devices required. Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems and iOS required.
- Experience with Cisco, VPN, Windows Server 2016+, Exchange and SQL preferred. Certifications preferred.
- Ability to submit a fingerprint check to successfully pass a criminal background check through the FBI and the Ohio BCI.
- Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
LICENSE OF CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets GP current carrier guidelines.
