Overview

The Program Associate is full-time, year-round position responsible for managing programs for the Corporation for Findlay Market. The Program Associate has a regular schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, with regular evening hours and occasional Sunday requirements. This role’s schedule will be dictated by program needs but will always been scheduled and communicated in advance. For example, some days will be a traditional 9am-5pm, but for evening programming, the schedule will shift to accommodate for this person to be onsite during the activity.

Details

The Program Associate is responsible for all aspects of programming for the Communication Team. This includes everything from ideation to execution. The Program Associate will report to the Event & Community Engagement Manager, and will work closely with the Program & Event Associate. The Program Associate on the Communication Team is expected to support teams across the organization on the execution of programming when appropriate.

The Program Associate’s success will be measured in part by the following goals:

  • Retain existing and attract a new shopper base.
  • Increase weekday shopper traffic.

Responsibilities

Findlay Market Programming

  • Plan and execute all weekday and weekend programming that support CFFM teams and initiatives
  • Manage relationships with external partners on programming happening both onsite and offsite
  • Execute on all Findlay Market programming in partnership with outside organizations
  • Oversee all bar program programs from ideation to execution
  • Plan and execute all sampling programming
  • Establish seasonal programming to showcase offerings at Findlay Market
  • Develop educational events and programming
  • Coordinate with the Communication Team for all promotional materials related to programs, including but not limited to web sliders, postcards, posters, digital graphics, mailers
  • Track data for all programs
  • Work with the Finance Team on all payment related needs for programs
  • Develop future programming and programs to support CFFM and Findlay Market initiatives
  • Support the creation and execution of programs across the organization

Music at the Market Program

  • Develop a strategy for Music at the Market that ensures we are meeting our annual goals
  • Be the point of contact for all musicians performing at Findlay Market, including outreach and coordination
  • Serve as the primary onsite staff member for musician check in and set up
  • Conduct post-performance evaluations
  • Track program data

Tour Program

  • Develop a strategy for the Findlay Market Tour program
  • Serve as the primary tour guide and train staff and volunteers to be tour guides
  • Stay informed on what is going on in the Findlay Market District and generally in the Cincinnati region
  • Understand all CFFM programs and know about product offerings from Findlay Market Merchants
  • Proactively build the program to include more customized tours for groups, ranging from schools to corporate organizations
  • Manage all tour requests and bookings
  • Track program data

Volunteer Management

  • Establish and execute a volunteer recruitment plan and strategies
  • Oversee the management of the Findlay Market Volunteer Program
  • Responsible for managing volunteer sign up platform
  • Manage volunteers for all special events, including communication and onsite support
  • Coordinate and manage regular volunteer meetings
  • Establish and manage volunteer committees and/or focuses, including, but not limited to tours, special events, community outreach, education and beautification
  • Responsible for creating content for monthly volunteer newsletter
  • Establish and execute a volunteer recruitment plan and strategies
  • Plan and execute annual volunteer event
  • Work across the organization to manage volunteer needs and fill all requests
  • Manage bi-annual shopper surveys, collect data and report results
  • Track program data

Special Events

  • Be on-site to manage all volunteers, including check-in, training and problem solving
  • Create and execute programming within special events, including community and family activities
  • Check in with music performers at each event and ensure they are ready to perform

Community Engagement

  • Serve as a representative of CFFM onsite and offsite at community engagement opportunities
  • Create a mobile engagement program that builds on our on-site tours but can be presented externally
  • Assist with communication with partners and management of logistics
  • Responsible for Communication Team “community events” that directly support the Findlay Market neighborhood and supporting organizations

Values, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • 1-3 years’ relevant work experience
  • Previous experience working with diverse audiences
  • Experience with volunteer management a plus
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and be able to showcase past experiences giving tours or presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization
  • Proficiency with volunteer management software
  • Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving and mediation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Continual on-the-job learning is required
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and some non-traditional hours
  • Displays a strong sense of professionalism, ownership, and accountability
  • Comfort with adapting to changing situations
  • Ability to prioritize workload and multiple projects

  • Benefits: This is a year-round, full-time position with an attractive benefits package that includes:
