Corporate Quality Engineer

Job Description

The Quality Engineer defines, monitors, and improves processes needed to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Responsible for identification or problems and implementation of preventative and corrective actions for suppliers, customers, and internal processes. This employee will guide others in use of quality tools and data analysis. This role will be responsible for defining and implementing APQP activities for the Steel group. The individual will be a resource for both our corporate support and facility quality teams.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for identification of compliance needs and implementation of processes to ensure compliance
• The role will also be responsible for implementing quality-related training.
• Support divisional improvements projects to increase productivity and quality
• Works directly with facilities and corporate support functional teams
• Leads and mentors others in use of quality tools and data analysis
• Ability to lead projects and communicate effectively
• Ability to work with multiple levels of personnel and departments within the organization
• Ability to travel, as needed


Desired Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field
• 2+ years’ work experience in Quality Engineer job role or equivalent
• 1 year of related experience in manufacturing environment
• Experience with AIAG Core Tools
• Experience with completing and leading APQP activities
• General understanding of quality systems
• Problem solving/critical thinking skills
• Strong analytics and technology skills
