SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Responsible for the everyday operations of the CCHMC campus gift shop
Ensure consistent customer service, establishing a good rapport with customers. Assist customers with selection and purchases. Work with staff and volunteers to maintain customer service standards through direct contact with customers.
Operate business machines (cash register, fax, credit card, copier, computer) and trouble shoot routine problems with basic business equipment. Assist volunteers in the daily operation of the Gift Shop. Answer the phone, take and deliver phone orders using excellent phone skills.
•Merchandising and Shipment Processing
Restock merchandise and maintain desired cleanliness in the stock areas. Management of packing slips on merchandise received, managing damage reporting and back orders. May enter all incoming merchandise in the POS/Inventory management system checking for price/cost and margin discrepancies. Work with buyers to coordinate incoming merchandise. Maintaining supply levels on shop supplies such as wrap, boxes, tissue, bags, register tape, etc. Maintaining backstock for the displays established by the Shop Manager and Buyers. Assist with Gift Shop special events. Coordinate with CCHMC departments involving Security, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Shipping.
Act in manner that maintains confidentiality, protects and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use and storage. Access only information and records necessary to perform the responsibilities of your position.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• No directly related experience
- Experience with purchasing product, producing product quotes and fulfilling product orders.
- Working independently to complete the purchasing, but also available to maintain our service standard on the sales floor.
